Amir Sulaiman

I am a poet, writer, speaker. In many ways writing is my most signifigant means to self discovery. I've recorded a couple albums, "Cornerstore Folklore" and Dead Man Walking".

I'm finishing my third album "Like a Thief in the Night". "Like a Thief in the Night" is scheduled to be released in early '07l on Uprising Records and distributed via Sony/Red. Most recently I've released a project BROAD DAYLIGHT available now. I was blessed to work with a few of my favorite artist on this album, Abi Odun (Last Poets), Mos Def, Goapele and Liza Garza. It's my first project that has major distribution so it feels like my introduction as an artist to the world. Needless to say, it is special to me. God willing, the people will find benefit in it. I also give lectures and workshops on Freedom of Speech and the Artists Sacred Obligation, Art & Spirituality, and Manifest Liberation.
